Lifelong Learning and Skills Service

The Lifelong Learning and Skills Service is part of the Education and Skills Directorate at Sheffield City Council.

Our intention is to educate and support Sheffield residents aged 16+ so that they can develop their skills, knowledge and experience. We want to enable learners to access further study, enhance their employment opportunities and encourage positive participation in their community.

Family and Adult Community Education (FACES)

Our FACES team teaches key functional skills as well as work-based and vocational skills to adults aged 19+. We also offer courses designed to help adults to support their children with learning, or to help them get a job.

Post-16 SEND education

Sheaf Training provides foundational learning opportunities for post-16 students, offering further learning, independence and employment for learners with additional needs.

Apprenticeships

Our Apprenticeship team offers work-based learning to young people aged 16 to 19, as well as to adults.

See it Be it in Sheffield

Our See It Be It team works with schools across the city to further develop the aspirations of children and young people. The team provides introductions to local employers as well as a variety of pathways to enable young people to reach their goals.
