Our training centre

CDC Training is an apprenticeship centre owned by Sheffield City Council and recently rated "Good" by OFSTED. It provides apprenticeship training for a wide range of employers across the Sheffield City Region, including delivering all of Sheffield City Council's apprenticeship programmes.

Our apprenticeship offer is unique, as it supports the Corporate Plan to create thriving neighbourhoods and communities and tackle inequalities, whilst boosting the economy.

As such we will support any young person that wants to look for an apprenticeship, including recommending suitable vacancies, helping them with writing CVs and providing short employability courses with work experience, leading to guaranteed interviews.

Our centre is on Manor Lane, next to the Kier site. It is 1 mile from the city centre, a 15 minute walk from Sheffield train station and has a tram stop nearby.

The centre has recently been refurbished and has a number of bright classrooms, fully supplied with IT equipment and interactive whiteboards. It also has some specialist workshops for bricklayers, painters, roofers and carpentry.

"Tutors check learners' and Apprentices’ understanding well to assess progress. They use questioning techniques skilfully to probe and test what learners and Apprentices know. They ensure that learners and Apprentices have grasped key concepts before moving on."
