Case study: Saeid

Saeid is a shining example of community spirit and dedication, proudly serving as a Community Champion at Learn for Life supporting the Tenants and Residents Association (TARA) in Lodge Moor. Saeid found a warm welcome in Sheffield after arriving in the UK as an asylum seeker.  He started his learning journey at Learn for Life and has wholeheartedly embraced his new home and become an integral part of the community.

Driven by a deep sense of gratitude and commitment, Saeid has dedicated himself to supporting his local area through various voluntary and community roles. One of his key contributions is through Sheffield City Council’s partnership with Learn for Life Enterprise, where he plays a vital role in helping tenants get digitally connected. His efforts have empowered countless individuals to become digitally active, bridging gaps and fostering inclusion within the community.

Saeid speaks fondly of the community, particularly the TARA, which he considers his extended family. He shares, “They have supported me and provided me with opportunities to develop my language skills, which has been invaluable in preparing for my exams.” This support has not only helped him grow personally but has also inspired him to give back in meaningful ways.

Beyond his work with digital skills, Saeid has rolled up his sleeves to improve the local area, taking on odd jobs and lending a hand wherever needed. His tireless efforts and positive attitude have made a lasting impact on those around him.
