Mohammed wanted qualifications that would help him prepare for the world of work in the future. He said he became more confident and motivated after completing his first course and enrolled onto other courses with FACES. He has since completed, maths, English and Health & Social Care at Level 1.

Mohammed has also been a valuable role model to his peers, offering words of encouragement, motivation and support. His drive and determination gained him the title of ‘Outstanding Learner’ at the LLS Learner Awards 2024. He also won ‘The Rachel Greenslade’ Award for dedication and commitment to learning. Mohammed has progressed onto an Access to Higher Education course at Sheffield College so he can realise his dream of working in the NHS or Sheffield City Council.

After his own positive learning experience Mohammed would like to give back to the community and become a Learning Ambassador for FACES.

When asked what difference attending FACES classes have made to him, he said:

"FACES has given me the foundation to kick start my life and achieve my goals! The learning environment at FACES is a lot more suitable as classes have fewer learners, the tutors are very helpful, and I felt welcome by the other learners."

Mohammed encourages future FACES learners to:

"Go for it, why not! FACES told me their courses were good, and they delivered!"
