Case study: Christina B

Christina said:
“I thought my spoken English was good, however, during telephone interviews I discovered it wasn’t good enough to successfully gain my desired choice of employment.”
Christina shared that the failure to achieve in employment knocked her confidence. During talks with her employment coach at the Job Centre, she was referred to FACES.
Christina decided to enrol on the FACES course to get a better job. She also wanted to help her daughter, who had just started school, with her reading and writing. Now, mother and daughter support each other with homework.
When asked about her plans once she had completed English Level 1, Christina said:
“I want to continue learning, I have noticed improvements in my English (spoken and written) and am confident and excited about my future!”
